The National Kitchen & Bath Association completed a study that was aimed at identifying the most popular styles, features, and materials among bathroom consumers. The results were released at this year’s Kitchen & Bath Industry Show. The study found transitional and contemporary design styles are likely to be the most popular for bathroom projects.

Less popular, although still a market factor, were coastal, Craftsman, rustic, mid-century and eclectic styling. As seen by the graph above consumers are looking to bring their bathrooms into the 21st century. Smart controls, conservation, and creature comforts are becoming more and more popular.
Radiant heat, voice-controls, and internet/app connected appliances are increasing according to the study. As consumers become more ecclectic in their experiences and styles, so do their bathrooms. The NKBA also found in their study that consumers spend up to twice as much on master bathrooms than on guest and powder rooms.
