Mike Blake Custom Homes built our dream home in 2010/2011 and we are as happy with that home today as we were the day we moved-in. I think most would agree that 10 years is an adequate amount of time to be able to deliver a fair, accurate and trustworthy assessment of the quality of the workmanship and the character of the builder. We have had no major issues with the house whatsoever...and that includes withstanding the horrible deep freeze weather we just experienced here in Texas (in Feb. 2021). Our home weathered that storm beautifully! At first, we honestly dreaded the thought of building a custom home after hearing from friends and family members about how daunting of a task it can be. We repeatedly heard rumors about the callousness of some builders "once they've got your money and you can't back out". However, Mike and Kim were nothing short of stellar! They were the complete opposite of what we were expecting. They helped us through the entire process, whether it was consulting about colors and styles or just helping us find ways to cut costs or meet budgets. Their attention to detail and their honesty and integrity are just a few things that made the process so much more enjoyable. In short, it's definitely a good thing when your builders are just good people. I can't speak to the negative reviews I read here about Mike's business except to say that I was surprised to see them. While I certainly don't know their individual circumstances or possible motives, I would recommend also reading the reviews on Houzz for an accurate representation. We feel totally blessed that we found Mike to build our custom home and absolutely would not hesitate to make the same choice again. -Greg Eberhart

Their workmanship is top notch, and even though we only made a few trips to observe the progress, everything went smoothly. Our project manager, JonTull, was incredible. I engaged Mike Blake Custom Homes in 2018 to build my custom dream home. The home was over 6,300 sq ft of living space and over 9,700 sq ft under roof. It was a big project, with all custom finish out, and Mike and Kim were great to work with, and we are so happy with how our house turned out. It is a super efficient house, and the attention to detail was great. It took a little longer to build than we all anticipated because of weather and so much customization, but other than change orders that we requested, Mike was able to build it close to our original contract price, despite price increases during construction and time delays. Mike also helped oversee other trades not specified in our contract, like a new pond construction, extra dirt work, and landscaping for our 7 acre lot. He also worked well with our interior designer and home automation company, neither of which were in his contract, so he really gave us extra service and oversight without charging us for it. We would highly recommend Mike and would hire him again.       -David Dryden
